We're so happy you're here!

LET'S CHASE YOUR HORSE DREAMS TOGETHER

The team here at True Horsemanship is as invested in your horsemanship journey as you are. We want to create confident and knowledgeable riders while maintaining a safe and positive environment. Our curriculum focuses on both excellent care of our equine partners and growth of the riders' skills.

Horseback riding supports mental health, boosts confidence, and is fabulous physical exercise. Horses are sensitive to our emotions and body language making them excellent teachers and therapists. We support a growth mindset for our students, and our instructors attend continued education on a regular basis themselves.

"No words can express how much I enjoy my riding lessons. Mariah and the True Horsemanship philosophy is exactly what I was looking for. The horses are the best!" - Ruth Larson

Starting in our Unicorn club (children under 4 years of age) we focus on teaching riders correct riding posture, we begin to teach steering, and we make these lessons lots of fun! These lessons are $35 for 30 minutes. Students assist in grooming, tacking, in addition to riding during this time. We offer these lessons on a weekly, bi-weekly or multi time weekly option.

From 4 years of age and up we offer traditional lessons. From 4 years of age until 7 we condense our regular curriculum to ensure topics aren't too advanced, but still progress their horsemanship skills.

From age 7 to adult we offer traditional lessons with a growth focused curriculum. We strive for our students to become knowledgeable horsemen as well as riders.

Our program utilizes both ground and ridden skills.

After level one, riders are able to ride independently SAFELY with a strong SAFETY first direction. One rein stops and emergency dismounts seem to be a forgotten tool many riding schools and coaches fail to teach. This is thoroughly enforced here to ensure all riders are equipped to ensure their safety.

Riders must learn more about horse anatomy, horse wound care, health signs, dietary requirements, leg protection, and spotting lameness. Even how to trailer load!

We teach natural horsemanship and utilize positive reinforcement to give riders a kind, emotionally stronger way of handling, teaching them how to bond with their horse, how important our body language is to get a horse to follow direction.
